1. Introduction

Algo Leagues is an Algorand-based NFT gaming platform founded in December 2021. The project bridges the gap between traditional gaming and Web3 by combining collectible character NFTs with competitive battle mechanics, all powered by the Algorand blockchain.

Players collect NFT characters, stake tokens, engage in team-based Discord battles and real-time PVP combat, and earn $ALC (Algo Leagues Coin) through multiple game modes and activities. With 35+ unique characters across 8 sets and a vibrant community, Algo Leagues is a cornerstone of Algorand gaming.

2. $ALC Token (ASA 445905873)

$ALC is the native utility token of the Algo Leagues ecosystem. It serves as the primary currency for all in-game transactions, rewards, and governance.

3. NFT Collection

The Algo Leagues collection features 35+ unique characters across 8 sets, each with distinct stats and lore. Every character has an Attack, Defense, and Health stat that determines their performance in battle. Each set is unique to the era and experience of Algo Leagues at the time of release.

Every NFT character has three core stats that define their combat effectiveness:

• Defense (DEF) — Reduces incoming damage from opponents
• Health (HP) — Total hit points before knockout

Rarity Tiers

Upgrade Path

Neapolitan (Ultra-Rare)

Neapolitan NFTs are 1/1 ultra-rare characters with unique stats and the highest staking rewards in the collection. They cannot be obtained through upgrades and are exclusively distributed through special events.

Catalyst NFTs (Blockchain Trilemma)

Catalysts are utility NFTs themed around the blockchain trilemma. Each provides a stat boost when equipped:

• Security — +33% DEF
• Scalability — +33% ATK
• Decentralization — +33% HP

• VIP NFT — 50% season pass discount + 10% ATK bonus
• LP Superhero — +10% DEF bonus for liquidity providers

5. Block Wars (Discord)

Block Wars is the flagship team-based battle mode played through Discord. Teams compete in automated battles every 12 hours for $ALC prize pools.

Boost Window

Players can activate stat boosts during the 15-minute window before each battle: 7:45 - 8:00 AM/PM EST. Boosts apply a temporary increase to team combat stats for that battle only.

Combat Mechanics

• Round-based stat exchanges between teams
• Critical hit and block chances add variance
• Imbalance protocol triggers at 50% HP for comeback potential

6. PVP Arena

The PVP Arena provides real-time 1v1 combat via WebSocket connections. Players build a deck of 3 NFT cards plus 1 Catalyst, then battle opponents in strategic turn-based combat with a shared mana pool and unique special abilities.

Action System

Each turn, players choose an action for their active card. All actions cost mana from the shared team pool. A fourth option, the Special ability, is unique to each card based on its rarity and dominant stat.

Damage Formula

Mana System

Both players share a team mana pool that fuels all actions. Mana regenerates in real time (Clash Royale style), adding a resource-management layer to combat. Running out of mana forces an Exhausted state with severe penalties.

Higher-rarity cards cost more mana to use, but their specials always total 3 MP regardless of rarity.

Special Abilities

Every card has a unique special ability determined by its rarity and dominant stat (whichever of ATK, DEF, or HP is highest). Specials range from armor-piercing strikes to full heals and damage reflection.

Card Selection & Targeting

Players have full tactical control during battle. Rather than always attacking with the active card against the opponent's active card, players can:

• Select attacker — Click any alive card in your deck to use it as the attacker for that turn
• Choose target — Click any alive opponent card to direct your attack at that specific card
• Auto-selection — If no manual selection is made, the currently active card attacks the opponent's active card by default

Turn Timer

Each player has 30 seconds to choose an action. If the timer expires, the game auto-selects Strike and applies a 10% HP penalty to the active card as a timeout punishment.

Rarity Passives

• Rare — Last Stand: +10% ATK when below 25% HP
• Epic — Second Wind: 30% chance to survive a knockout blow
• Legendary — Aura of Power: +5% stats to benched allies
• Neapolitan — Lifesteal: Heal 15% of damage dealt on KO
• Catalyst — Amplify: Boost increased from 33% to 40%

7. Arena Modifiers

Each arena introduces unique rule modifiers that alter the flow of combat. Arena selection happens before a match begins and affects both players equally. Custom arena skins can be purchased from the Shop for $2 in ALC.

8. Confidence System

The Confidence System adds a high-stakes layer to PVP matches, allowing players to multiply the battle outcome by escalating the stakes mid-match. Stakes affect the impact of the match result (wins and losses count for more), not the token rewards directly.

• Match — Accept the raised stakes and continue the battle
• Fold — Forfeit instantly; the raiser wins with multiplied outcome
• Raise Back — Escalate stakes further (1x → 2x → 4x)

9. Season System

Algo Leagues operates on a quarterly season model (Q1-Q4). Each season introduces fresh leaderboards, prize pools, and competitive content.

Season Pass Pricing

A single season pass grants access to both the Leagues PVP Arena (website) and Discord 1v1 PVP wager battles. Passes are cross-platform — purchase on either and the other recognises it instantly.

On the website, passes are paid on-chain in ALC at the live market rate. Via the Discord bot (/pvp-season-pass buy), passes are purchased directly from the user's in-bot ALC balance at fixed ALC fallback amounts. VIP and ALMega discounts are detected automatically from on-chain holdings in both cases.

Revenue Distribution

Prize Pool Tiers

The top 3 receive ALC from the prize pool (of the 40% portion). All top 10 finishers earn the prestigious Leaderboard Legends badge and Discord role. Remaining prize pool rolls into the next season.

Per-Match Rewards

• Win vs Human — 0.1% of participation pool
• Win vs Bot — 0.05% of participation pool
• Loss — 0.02% of participation pool

10. Shop & Economy

The in-game shop accepts $ALC converted from USD at live market rates. Prices are cached for 5 minutes using a dual oracle system (Pera Wallet API primary, Vestige API fallback).

11. Discord Community Bot

The Algo Leagues Discord Community Bot brings ALC utility directly into Discord servers, enabling on-chain interactions without leaving the conversation. It is available on both the Algorand and VOI networks.

• ALC Rain — Shower a channel with ALC tokens. Set entry requirements, duration, and split type to reward active community members.
• Tip System — Send ALC directly to any Discord member with a single command. Instant on-chain settlement, no wallet address required by recipients.
• Bounties — Post ALC rewards for completing tasks or challenges. Community members claim by fulfilling the bounty criteria.
• Giveaways — Automate ALC or NFT giveaways with role-gated entry, randomized winner selection, and automatic distribution.
• Auctions — Host time-based NFT or ALC auctions with bid history, automated settlement, and cross-server visibility.

Premium & Asset Management

Base bot features are free for all Algo Leagues community members. Extended functionality is unlocked via ALC:

• Token Asset Management — 20,000 ALC for custom token integration
• NFT Asset Management — 1,000 ALC per NFT managed through the bot

12. Collection Bonuses

Owning multiple NFTs unlocks stacking bonuses that enhance combat performance. All bonuses stack multiplicatively.

Depth Bonus

+3% per extra NFT of the same rarity beyond the 3 deck slots, capped at 30%. Holding a deep collection of a single rarity rewards dedicated collectors.
